Backpacking Dublin the City
Here the atmosphere was amazing, everyone was very helpful and lovely, the general feel was great, very welcoming, very busy but most cities have this feel. We stayed in a hostel called the ‘Shining Hostel’, which was good, cost us €30 for 3 nights, including a Friday night. This included breakfast and it was in a good location, the people running it were friendly and helpful about what to see.
We were lucky with the hostel as Dublin is very expensive, the cheapest pint we found was €5.50 and food is along these lines as well, although not as extortionate, but still expensive. However the night life is great, it gets going around 10/11pm and everyone is friendly. Would recommend finding a local pub, who is having a band/singer for the night as these are really good. Things to see in Dublin are Trinity College as this is a very pretty college and Dublin’s local university. Other things to see is the castle, Christchurch, Croke park and if you can get up to Malahide castle on the trains.
