I just wanted to add that there are multi-fuel stoves available (they can be a bit expensive) that weigh just a few ounces and use a refillable fuel bottle. This eliminates the weight of extra bottles, extra empties getting left behind, and the best part is you can use just about any liquid fuel. I have an MSR Dragonfly stove and have used everything from white gas to diesel to naphtha and many other fuels so you don't have to worry about finding a specific fuel.

Found a fantasic caravan park in central Bulgaria (Camping Veliko Tarnovo Dragizhevo Veliko Tarnovo) got a tip of another Back packer, they have tents for hire at resonable price cafe on site with resonable price and on site wardens in caravans so we felt perfectly safe camping as two lone females. Staff were really friendly and the site was very clean free hot showers to die for. They are supposed to be having a pool in 2011 which would have been great considering it was 36oC the days we stayed. Were only going to stay over night but stayed two may visit next year on the way back to the UK.

This tent is great for anywhere warm with a light breeze and a bit of drizzle but nothing more adveturous!

Took it backpacking in South America and found out that with a stronger breeze anywhere near sand and the whole thing fills up with dust and debris!! The design and material means that the wind wips up inside the top layer and the mesh is such a large weave that it rains dust and dirt inside the tent...all over your stuff, you AND your camera equipment.

This design also means that in colder conditions you can feel the wind inside and you freeze!

Im moving to Namibia, the land of sand. This tent will NOT be coming with me!

If only the U.S. were set up better for travel by anything but cars! Poland sounds like a pleasant place for backpacking, I did spend some time knocking around Europe and the trains were exceptional. We've got nothing like that here. Bicyclists on public roads are always gambling their lives, we just don't have a transportation system for anyone who's not going by car. OK, there's one section of Amtrak and then there's Greyhound, lots of reasons to avoid both of them. We do have the Polish beer over here, at least.

Normally I wouldn't comment on posts but I felt that I had to as your writing style is actually excellent. You've broken down a tough area so that it simple to understand. I believe that you would enjoy reading what another good blogger has to say on the subject.

Great article. So many parents think they have to change their lifestyle so dramatically after having a baby. With all the products available today, they can stay just as active.

Good tips, I find that the list really works.

Another good one is with the list break things down into what you need and what you would like to take.

So when your pack is full you have a good idea of stuff you can take out to lighten the load.
